I applied online towards the end of March and got a request for an initial zoom screening with the HR Director about 2 weeks later. Call was simple enough, talked about why I was looking, why BPG etc.
The next step was a panel interview with the COO and another member of the HR team, I believe she was director of payroll.
The COO primarily led the meeting. In one question she asked me if I thought taking the role would be a step down…obviously not if I applied. Then proceeded to ask me what I would do in a variety of relatively simple, low stake scenarios that someone of my tenure would have already navigated in their career and made a comment that “interviewing with her wasn’t easy.” Then at the end told me I was a top candidate but later to think about if I wanted to role…they told me I would hear back by the end of that week regarding next steps.
Friday passed and I followed up with the director on Monday to express my interest and get an update on next steps. Was told I’d hear more by the end of that week.
Surprise, surprise- after that I heard nothing from them ever again. Not even a rejection notice. Not a shock since the COO made it pretty obvious she wasn’t interested and clearly attempted to discourage me at every point in the interview. Wonder if interviewing with her “wasn’t easy” for only me if she treats all candidates like that. I’m sure I already know the answer to that.
Rude, weird and unprofessional bunch.
