      Executive Assistant Interview

      12 Dec 2019
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Brookfield (New York, NY) in Feb 2017

      Interview

Overall, fairly easy process. 1) Submitted resume via recruiter 2) First round interview with HR 3) Second round interview with 1 or 2 VP's from the team 4) Final round interview with additional 1 or 2 VP's from the team and then MP.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The majority of the questions were fairly simple and straightforward, for example: Q: Walk me through your resume. Q: Why are you looking to leave your current position? Q: Describe a complex project you recently completed. Q: How do you stay organized while supporting multiple team members? Q: Can you describe a time when you were faced with a difficult situation at work and how you resolved it? Q: Give me an example of how you would personally initiate "team building" as a new member of the organization? The interviews were easy going and very conversational, which proved to be exceptionally beneficial because other than specific qualification requirements, personality and "organizational fit" were equally important factors in order to best align with a specific team and Brookfield, in a support-type role.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Brookfield (New York, NY)

      Interview

Very intimidating, I wasn't notified it would be a panel interview. The job description vs what was discussed in person didn't match. They basically hire multiple executive assistants and then they select and place you where they see where you would be a fit. So in a way, you don't know where you would end up. I was notified by the recruiter I would be supporting 3-5 SVPs, but in person, I was told I would be supporting a team possibly for a total of 20 individuals.

      Interview

First Round was in person, dress as presentable as possible the more standard business outfit. They don’t like fashion. Prepare to be there for an hour plus and bring copies of your resume.

They were very prepared for my arrival. The receptionist was warm and personable. They allotted enough time for each rounds of interviews. They asked very thoughtful questions, and inquired about my future goals. The team overall were professional and inquisitive.
