It started with friendly zoom meetings with people who seemed to be at the top of the company. Then they gave me the take home assignment. It seemed straight forward and relevant to the job, but it was clear they either wanted me to lie about how much time I spent on it or prove that I'm a top 1% engineer. I did neither and they rejected me an hour after I submitted the assignment.
I had a generally good experience here. The company has a takehome but compensates candidates for their time. People seem generally nice and very down to earth. Didn't get the job.

Generic phone screen with an external recruiter, followed by a meeting with the director of engineering / hiring manager via Google Meet, followed by a take home technical assessment. After completing the take home I was informed my solution was "good", but not "great". No further feedback was provided.
