I applied to Brilliant Earth for a customer support position. I felt like I would be a good fit for the company and position. My initial HR Associate I was speaking with through email I could tell was either unorganized or overwhelmed. He would send out response emails to me late around 7pm and then not reply back until that time the next day. A phone interview was arranged on a less than 12 hour notice and then the day of the interview he said he had to reschedule for the next day. I interviewed with him over the phone and it was probably the most laughable phone interview I've ever undergone . I did my best to answer his scripted questions which he was reading from a piece of paper . None of his questions were even elementary based questions. If you've had an actual job or done interviews before it was easily the most scripted interview ever. I felt like I was applying for a job at gas station. The HR Associate sounded like he was in his early early 20s and had little knowledge of conducting an interview . I could tell he was disinterested in the entire interview and I was stuck trying to cater to his needs.
It was the fastest and most unproductive/unprofessional phone interview I've ever done . I have never felt so rushed in my entire life.
I called a few friends after wards to talk about the interview and told them I don't even know what just happened. Awkward ...........
If you are applying for a customer support position just answer the silly questions that uncover literally nothing about you as an individual .
