The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Bridgewater Associates (Westport, CT) in May 2012
Interview
I had a group interview and I really don't understand where all the negativity comes from other than Bridgewater is not you average company. We were asked as a group to compile a list of values and from that list choose 3 values that were most important. We were then asked individually about our weakness. It was a very simple question and the 3 people with me appeared to be uncomfortable which I based that on their indirect answers. Yes, Bridgewater's culture is different but for me, I found their interview style and the principals beneficial and rewarding. TRUTH is all they are seeking.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Bridgewater Associates (Westport, CT) in Jun 2015
Interview
group intereview; I prepared by reading Dalio's 126 page manifesto, memorizing Bridgewaters values, learned about their products and history. The interviewer was a non HR employee hired about 3 months before and her lack of understanding of the company's message was very evident. Her interviewing skills were not very good and she seemed to ignore the people with experience in the area described in the job description while focusing on a person who worked on a cruise ship and an activity coordinator and someone who had taken community acting classes
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
what is our company's value statement. Most people did not know the answer. They started debating it which seemed funny because it is spelled out on the company website
