One of the most glaring issues was the overwhelming bias toward hiring individuals of Indian descent. It became evident early on that Brex prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to the point where it feels exclusionary to others. As a white candidate, I felt like I didn’t stand a chance from the very beginning. The interview panels were almost entirely composed of Indian employees, and it felt like there was an unspoken preference for candidates who fit a specific demographic.
