Interviewed by two very junior analysts, neither of whom was an expert in the field. I’d say their qualifications were bare minimum, if that. Overall standard questions, but not very impressive. A lot of it sounded as if they were printed straight from a Google search of “how to interview candidates”. The presentation from the website and ideas are luring, but the reviews of this place are very off-putting. I didn’t like that I was emailed my candidacy was closed with no feedback or information. Poor communication, okay interview, but lack of expertise or management. It’s very weird to have such junior people conduct interviews.

Interview
Standard interview over Zoom. Asked "tell us about yourself," "what do you think is a large barrier to nuclear," "how are you qualified for this position." Conducted with two current employees.
I applied online. I interviewed at Breakthrough Institute
Interview
A generally fun, lengthy, alternately professional and amateurish process. Interviews with many different smart and earnest people, followed by a "challenge" assignment, followed by more interviews. Ultimately, a time-consuming process that ended with an awkward, defensively written email (note: not even a phone call) letting me know I didn't get the job.
