      Account Manager Interview

      10 Nov 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Bounteous (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2017

      Interview

Unique would be one word to describe my interview. We agreed on a time Thursday to have an initial phone interview, but at 9pm the night before we were to speak, a new time was requested of me, which I couldn't make. I emailed back immediately that I was unable to make the new time, but offered times on Thursday, Friday and the following week that I could accommodate. This was unresponded to all day Thursday and all day Friday, so I called, but the voicemail box was full. I emailed back the following week after 4 days of radio silence and the interviewer said she'd gone out of town. No apology offered. We'd agreed to speak the next day at 4pm. At 4:30, after no call, I emailed again with "Sorry that we weren't able to connect (at the agreed upon time)" but my continued interest in speaking. The next morning, I received a response apologizing that she was with students who were visiting the office and it went late. No common courtesy to email that you'll be late, stepping away to all at the agreed upon time, a simple text, et. I am currently employed and had to take time off of work, but, she was with high school students - which is about the worst excuse that you can give someone as to why you couldn't make an interview. We did actually speak after another agreed upon time. But, it was about her talking me out of the position. I knew that there was little to no chance that I'd advance to the next step after what had transpired. It's too bad too, because I was over qualified. But, I had heard good things about the company. Not sure how many great candidates they miss because of this person. The best part was, "Connect with me on LinkedIn for future opportunities that are more in line with your experience" which I'm still waiting for her to accept. Unbelievable and a very poor person to be the shepherd of a service company's value - its people.
