I applied online. I interviewed at Booth & Associates (Raleigh, NC) in Feb 2026
Interview
My cold application was accepted and I was given a screening call the next week with a few PMs and recruiter, and then an in-person interview within two weeks. The questions were pretty rapid fire for both interviews.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What have you learned about the company in the past week?
I applied online. I interviewed at Booth & Associates in Jan 2026
Interview
Applied online and they reached back out in 20 minutes for an interview later that week. Had the interview later that week and was told they would reach back out with the next steps the following week. 2 weeks later I was sent the automated rejection.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Booth & Associates (Raleigh, NC) in Sept 2025
Interview
I interviewed for the Data Scientist (Utility Planning/AI) role. Throughout the process, Booth emphasized its “honesty, people-oriented, and dependable” culture multiple times.
The interview structure was unusual, it started with an unstructured six-on-one Zoom panel (30 min) as the first round, followed by a four-on-one in-person interview (60 min). Reference checks and salary discussions took place before the on-site visit. The interview questions themselves were surprisingly light for a technical position; the most technical question I was asked was, “Can you teach us a fun fact about data science?”
After the in-person interview and a tour of the office, the hiring team told me, “If it were up to me, I’d give you an offer right now, but that would be against company policy.” A week later, I received a standard rejection email from HR with no explanation, while the job posting remains active.
I understand that hiring priorities can change, but the experience didn’t reflect the “honesty and integrity above all” message that was repeated throughout the process.
