      Risk Analyst Interview

      20 Nov 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Salt Lake City, UT
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bolt (Salt Lake City, UT) in Oct 2018

      Interview

Overall, I was satisfied with the process. It was very long-winded, but it was clear that the long process was because they really want to make sure that they hire the right people. I had a phone screen with the manager, which was quite structured (i.e. set questions of "tell me about a time you...") but it was still quite casual (I was able to joke around with the manager at times). I was invited in the following week for an on-site interview. In this second interview, I met with the team and got to chat with them about the job. They asked about my experience and what I thought about the different processes they showed me. Then I met with the corporate manager. At this time, I was a bit thrown off that the corporate manager was pretty intense and didn't give me a lot of hints as to how the interview was going, and then I met with their growth manager who had a similar intensity. I left feeling that I performed poorly, but when I was offered the position, it was clear that this intensity was part of them ensuring they selected the best candidates. I did have to push a little bit to get the ball rolling throughout the interview process as I began to receive offers from other companies but was still most interested in Bolt. If you are interviewing here, expect a longer process than you'll get at most companies, and a mix of very casual and very intense interviews. Bolt cares a lot about their culture and finding people who fit well, so the process works accordingly.
