Firstly, the company environment appears very exciting and they have amazing technology the other players in this space may not have. It’s a vibrant and motivating company that could have excellent potential to take on the larger daily deal competitors. Regardless of this interview experience it seems a good place to work.
Bloomspot is running at a chaotic pace, which is affecting how they look to potential employees and how they conduct meetings. I had multiple face-to-face interviews and each time I arrived to their offices nothing went as they explained. I was to meet multiple interviewers but each time that never materialized. My visits appeared thrown together at the last minute and most of the scheduled interviewers never showed up. Of the people that did show up, not one person had read my resume.
The questions they asked were unrelated to the role, my background or even sales. The interviews were scheduled for 30 minutes or less, not giving enough time to ask my own questions. I hope Bloomspot revamps their interview process, because I know others who had similar experiences.
The founders are exceptionally smart product people, but the sales team needs leadership at this point in the company’s growth. My advice is to hire a CEO now.
