First had an interview with HR which went really well then had an interview with someone from the actual team which didn’t go great. It felt like what I had discussed in my first interview hadn’t been said to the second person who was interviewing me. HR also told me I was supposed to be interviewed by at least two people in my second interview and told me I’d have a test first and afterwards I could ask questions. Turns out it was only one person interviewing me and the questions were supposed to happen before the test. It was a very odd experience.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Bloomberg (New York, NY) in Sept 2024

Interview over zoom with a recruiter
We went through my resume; the questions were fairly standard, asking for more details about specific roles on my CV; emphasized that they want people to come to the office in person
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Bloomberg (London, England)
Interview
Written interview that involves you answering basic finance questions as well as a separate writing test (you just write an article about an important issue in the news). Then a round each of interviews with team leader, managing editor, executive editor and bureau chief. Each asking questions about your core subject, how you get sources, how you would deal with certain situations, etc. Make clear that speed is important but that accuracy is top of priority when writing an article. Whole process was very long.
