Interview
fun and relaxed, the interviewer was more focused on personality than asking questions. Overall I found it great, it was about 15 minutes long, so not too long a nice length of time!

Have you previously worked as a tea mixologist?

Interview
The questions asked didn't relate to the job description. It felt like the questions were provided by HR or they were looking for a personality hire. I think asking soft skill and personality questions works for shop assistants but weird for this position. This is disappointing but this company does seem like they hire on personality above everything else.

Application
I interviewed at Bird & Blend Tea (Worthing, West Sussex, South East England, England) in Nov 2025
Interview
I went through 3 interview stages for this role at Bird & Blend, including 2 digital and an in-person interview with a presentation. The interviewer was warm and welcoming, which I really appreciated.
The process itself felt a little unusual and rushed at times. There was only one day between the second and third interview, which felt like quite a tight turnaround, especially with a presentation to prepare for. There were also very few technical questions and almost no discussion about my CV, which made it difficult to talk about my experience and skills freely, and to understand what skills the team were looking for.
The part that I found most disappointing was the lack of personalised feedback afterwards. After investing time into multiple stages and sending 2 follow up emails, I only received a generic automated "Thank you for your interest but you haven't been selected" rejection email. This felt quite disheartening, and it felt like a real mismatch with the company’s community and “people first” public messaging. I understand it was peak period, but even a small amount of feedback would have been genuinely appreciated, I really hope they change this policy for future applicants.
