HR is functionless in the hiring process, only send the emails, at least in my case for Scientist position. They requested to prepare a scientific talk for 15 mins. Although 8 persons would attend it, only 4 of them were in the room. The questions asked by Head of the Department were offensive, even though he was polite in the phone interview. I didn't receive an offer however my decision would be negative if I would get.
