I applied online. I interviewed at Betterment (New York, NY) in Jun 2026
Interview
Interview process consisted of a 30-minute Zoom screening, followed by a case study, and then an in-person final round at the office. The final stage involved meeting with approximately 7–8 different employees. While everyone was professional, many of the interviews covered the same topics and questions, which made the process feel repetitive.
For an entry-level position that did not require a college degree, the overall process felt unusually lengthy and time-intensive. After completing all stages, I received a generic rejection email with little to no feedback. Shortly afterward, I noticed the position was reposted on LinkedIn.
Overall, the process seemed somewhat disorganized and longer than necessary for the role. Based on conversations and reviews from other candidates, my experience appears to be fairly common.

Are you comfortable with cold calling 200 people a day?
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Betterment (New York, NY) in Feb 2026
Interview
The process was extremely long and inefficient. I went through nearly 9 hours of interviews overall and even had to miss a full day of work to accommodate the schedule. After already committing to 4 straight hours of interviews, I was repeatedly asked the same questions in slightly different ways by different interviewers. It felt uncoordinated and unnecessarily repetitive rather than a structured evaluation process. Despite the significant time commitment, the rejection came very quickly afterward with little meaningful feedback. The company should streamline the process, reduce redundancy between interview rounds, and make decisions faster out of respect for candidates’ time.

Interview
it seemed average, less intense than a faang company but overall people seemed pleasant. they are definitely looking to hire better middle layer to address some of the concerns I've read about poor middle management.
