Better Senior Software Engineer interview questions

Phone screen with Karat, standard on-site after that. programming exercises, manager chat, db design question, and technical depth interview with a staff engineer. Everyone was very friendly and the overall process was very organized.

Contacted by better on LinkedIn. I had 2 rounds of technical interviews through a third-party company called karat followed by 4 rounds of interviews focused on design in virtual onsite. Everything went well and I was contacted a week later with a verbal offer. This is when things turned bad, the recruiter started giving me the run around for 4 weeks, and eventually, I was just ghosted. Based on other reviews here, ghosting seems to be common. According to posts on blind, better has stopped hiring and even laid off some people because of the upcoming IPO. I would have appreciated better being honest with me about it instead of wasting my time. Do not bother interviewing with better, it is a waste of time.
