I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Best Buy
Interview
I cannot stress professionalism when it comes to the interview for Project Team Specialist, or any position within the Project Team. Most Field Deployment Managers look for highly-motivated, physically able, hard workers who are not only good at working with their hands for long periods of time, but also good with communication skills technology.
They DO drug test, but only pre-employment, so be clean. I would recommend highlighting technical, communication and leadership skills in the interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
This will vary, I have interviewed with two FDMs and several Best Buy managers, the questions are largely different every time.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Best Buy in Sept 2023
Interview
I got an email from the Colorado/Wyoming project deployment supervisor. It sounded promising at first and I figured it would lead to a phone conversation. Instead it was a back-to-back email exchange, which seems highly unusual for a company like Best Buy. I was ultimately ghosted by the supervisor after he learned that I don't have direct product merchandising experience (even though I have very transferable skills). It was highly unprofessional to be ghosted after a back-to-back exchange via email. Where was HR in this situation?
Very straight forward and easy interview. Questions seemed very templated to be used across all positions. They were not very concerned with previous work history. Overall a positive experience and I looked forward to working.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Best Buy
Interview
Just a brief phone interview to see if I was still interested and briefly explain my work experience, then a second in person interview with the phone interviewer as well as their supervisor to go more into detail with my experience
