Interview
A few days after submitting an my CV and cover letter through their website, I was contacted by a Bending Spoons recruiter with a link inviting me to complete 7 timed tests taking 30min-1 hour each. Some tests were harder than others, and at certain points I had to try to remember mathematical formulas I learned in high school. Overall, I wasn't sure how I did, but shortly after completing them, the recruiter let me know I was selected to proceed to the next round. The next round comprised of additional 3 tests, which I completed. I was contacted a week later to be told they were no longer considering my application because they had better candidates. This surprised me because I thought I performed much better on second round of tests than on the first. While somewhat entertaining, I personally think enforcing this sort of screening process only to disqualify the candidate without even speaking to them first isn't all that fair.

The application process was fairly straightforward, but once I submitted my materials, it felt like they vanished into the void. Weeks went by without any update or acknowledgment of my application status. I'd check my inbox eagerly each day, only to be met with the disheartening sight of an empty email thread.

Dopo aver inviato il curriculum e una lettera motivazionale, si viene invitati a sostenere dei test. Il primo set di test è una decina di test logico-matematici, indipendentemente dal ruolo per cui ci sta candidando, a tempo e che nel complesso richiedono diverse ore per essere portati a termine.

1) CV shortlisted
2) 1st batch of logic tests (5h circa)
3) 2nd batch of tests consisting of 1 IQ matrix on Alva + additional case scenarios (3h circa)
Unfortunately, I didn’t proceed further because, regardless of the high score (86/93 points), somebody did better and was selected for the next phases.
The process is time-consuming but interesting and different.
I am sorry that they decided not to proceed with a call because there is nothing like meeting a candidate to judge their fit for the company/role (in my opinion). However, this is their method of choice, and it’s well-explained throughout the entire process.
Positive note: the recruitment team demonstrated to be efficient and polite. When asked, they shared my results with me and dedicated a moment to provide feedback on my application.
