      Sales Engineer Interview

      22 Jan 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Beeline (London, England) in Nov 2022

      Interview

One of the worst recruiting experiences I have had recently. Applied through LinkedIn, their recruiter contacted me right away for a first screening interview. I quickly felt not so enthusiastic about the company, as I found the recruiter extremely slow, repetitive, boring and he took 30 minutes to say something he could have said in 10. One of the things he repeated the most, is how simple and straight forward they were when recruiting, explained the supposed interview stages and that they respected candidates and didn’t want to leave them hanging for an answer for long (this is super important as I had the absolute opposite experience). As I passed that first screening, I thought I would give it a go. Second interview was with the hiring manager, again had not such a good experience, I found her quiet passive aggressive and negative towards my work experience, literally felt she was setting me up for failure as would keep on saying “you say you can do this job, but let’s see, you will have to show me”. I left the interview not feeling too great about it all. My husband encouraged me to give them another chance. They let me know I passed to the next round which was the technical task presentation. Shortly after they told me that they decided to add ANOTHER interview, before the technical one, clearly going against everything they told me on the screening call. They ask me for availability to schedule this extra interview and that was it… never heard from them again, they ghosted me for over 4 weeks after that. They never replied to my many messages during those weeks and actually saw they posted the job offer again!! Over 6 weeks since my last contact with them I received a new message (clearly intended to many people) apologising for not being in touch and asking for availability for next interview. I replied, and guess what???!! I was ghosted for a SECOND time. Definitely the message was intended for more than one candidate but I shouldn’t have received it myself for some reason. After some days of no response I wrote another message showing my discontentment, and asking for answers. I FINALLY received a message one week after apologising saying that once they opened the role again (after they ghosted me the first time) they had received new candidates “better suited” for the role. An absolute joke!!!!!
