Interview
The interview process took roughly 4 and a half months with multiple meetings and very little regards for the candidate's time. The supervisor for the position seemed unsure of what she really wanted for the position. She also seem to be a bit naive about the amount of work that would be required. This helped to explain the low salary being offered. It was evident given her first round of questions that she did not take the time to really review my resume. The staff members seemed annoyed during the interview process as though they had been forced to participate and therefore seem wagered to finish it. At the end, I had to reach out for an update when they stopped responding. Seemed pretty unprofessional given the level of the position and the time invested. According to other colleagues, Barnard has a reputation for being exceedingly slow with hiring and with many administrative processes.

Interview
Interviewed for a Senior Accountant position and unfortunately found the interview process to be very impersonal and disengaging. The initial interview was conducted entirely through the Spark video platform, where questions appeared on the screen and candidates were required to record responses without interacting with an actual person.
While I understand companies are increasingly using technology in recruiting, the process felt overly automated and lacked the human interaction that is important in evaluating both candidate fit and company culture. It was difficult to get a sense of the team, leadership style, or overall work environment through a one-sided recorded interview format.
The experience left me with a somewhat negative impression of the hiring process because it felt more focused on filtering candidates through automation rather than creating a meaningful and professional conversation. For a position that requires collaboration and communication, I expected a more personal approach to the interview process.
Overall, the role itself seemed interesting, but the recruiting experience felt detached and not particularly candidate-friendly.

Interview
Smooth and expected; shorter phone interview followed by in person interview with larger team. Everyone I spoke to was really kind, supportive, and curious about finding the right person for the role. The 2nd interview was a mix of challenging, logistical, and experience questions that felt manageable while keeping me engaged.
