I was contacted by HR after applying directly with Baptist.
First I spoke to HR, then a second call with HR for a technical test.
Personally I really did not like the way this was handled. Being a hiring manager myself, its so important to get to know the person in person.
HR asked me 10 technical questions. EXTREMELY specific to one brand of technology software.
I have been in IT for 15 years. I have passed the most extreme interviews with major tech companies sitting in front of a board of 5 top tier engineers and passed with flying colors. I have never been given a technical exam by an HR person that has no idea what they are asking.
A day after my technical screening I got an email saying they are perusing someone that matches their job description more closely.
The technical screening did not cover 80% of the technology in the job description. The HR person couldn't even note my answers correctly. Frustrating.
Its like hiring an engineer to design and build a car and asking what time of metal Goodyear uses in its tires.
I was very interested in working for Baptist. Their loss.
