Interview
Had an initial call and then was ghosted thereafter. Follow up emails weren't responded to. Not sure why they couldn't give a straight answer and instead just kept me hanging.
Applied for the job opening on one site and ended up having to fill out an application on their online portal later. Then got a phone interview and was told I should hear back in 24 hours whether I would be moving forward or not. A few weeks later, I haven’t even heard a single word back from them.
Please have respect for candidates time. You made me fill out another application before the phone interview and then nothing. I had a feeling it was going to be a waste of time since I have seen so many job postings from this company in the last year, disappointed I even bothered to apply. It doesn’t matter that you chose not to proceed with me, it matters that you didn’t bother to let me know the outcome. I will never waste my time with this organization again in the future.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Baker Publishing Group
Interview
This was an editorial assistant position at Bethany House publishers, a pretty prominent Christian book publisher in Minneapolis. I found out about the position from a friend. They don't really seem to use the big job boards as much. I went in for a "preliminary" interview and met with the vice president and two editors. They didn't seem like they were accustomed to interviewing, or perhaps they just expected me to really take control of the situation. I didn't get a second interview but they said there would be at least a second round.

Question 1
The question that caught me off guard was "how would you go about editing or interacting with a work that expresses values that you disagree with?" Bethany being a Christian publisher I didn't know where I should stand on that one.
