I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bain & Company (Melbourne) in Mar 2019
Interview
Applied online with a CV and cover letter. Was then asked to do a psychometric test which wasn't difficult (not the typical logical reasoning, numerical skills test, but more like a test to gauge your personality/decision-making). Quick initial screening (about a week) and got to know about first-round interviews. There was a pre-interview cocktail night which was great because you got to meet others and people from the firm. We were also given the names of our interviewees one day before the interview.
The interview was a case interview with 3 x 45 minute case studies. These were difficult but the interviewers were generally supportive and helped you if you got too stuck. Had a few behavioural questions at the end of one of the case interviews (after a market sizing question) but not too many.
One of the interviewers called a few hours after the interview itself confirming a place in the final round. He was extremely helpful and gave a lot of feedback on how to improve for the next round.
Final round interviews were 2 x 45 minute case interviews with Partners. These cases were tougher and the interviewers gave much less feedback/support.
Did not receive an offer in the end but it was a great learning experience.
2 rounds of interviews, each round consisting of 3 interviews with cases. In the first round 2 case interviews and 1 with HR. In the 2nd round you have 3 interviews with more senior profiles like managers and partners.
Interviewers were really nice, but the process was difficult. Standard level cases and they expected you to take them through multiple business problems. If you practice casing frequently with multiple partners, you should be fine.

Question 1
Please walk me through how you would approach this case.
2 cases for R1. Pretty straightforward cases about revenue optimization opportunities. There was a little bit of market sizing but all data needed was given. No behaviorals asked in round 1 for me.
