      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at BYJU'S (Bengaluru) in Nov 2021

      Interview

There were 3 interviews. In the first one, they checked for subject knowledge, they asked me questions. It was a verbal test, no written test. In the 2nd interview, I was asked to explain concepts that a class 8 student can understand nicely. The 3rd interview was a formal interview with the Product Director, he asked me casual stuff, nothing hardcore physics-related.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1. How do you explain the effect of force on an object to a class 8 student. i.e. teach by examples, where an object's motion was stopped due to a force, and where its motion started because of a force, and another case where the object's motion's direction was changed due to force, but not speed. This was the question asked to me.

      Application

I applied through university. I interviewed at BYJU'S (Calicut, Kerala) in Jan 2021

      Interview

Three rounds: Round 1: Online test. Aptitude is common for all. Four subjects are given(Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology) in which one has two choose two favourite subjects. I chose Mathematics and Physics. Basic questions were asked on 11th and 12th-grade topics. Tips to crack this: Just be strong with aptitude as it is necessary for every company. Just make sure you remember the topics you studied in your 11th and 12th grade. Round 2: Written-test. 4 questions were asked in which one has to attempt 3. 1st question was to check your English proficiency. A paragraph was given in which there will be some mistakes. 2nd question was to test your creativity in teaching and to check your illustrative skills. We have to create an info-graph in a visual, fun and creative manner. You are free to choose the topic which you are going to visualise. 3rd question was to check your storytelling skills. You have to think about your favourite movie and write the ending. You can leave out the character names if you want to and see if your friends can guess the title of the movie you altered. You have to be more creative and make the story more immersive. 4th question was subjective. You are given four questions based on four subjects(Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology). You have to solve one question in a more simple way just like you are explaining your solution to a kid. You were asked to select a subject to be asked in the interview. I selected mathematics. Round 3: Face to face interview. The interview was not tough. The interviewer asked me to choose a chapter in mathematics which I am comfortable with. I was asked to explain the questions in that topic asked in such a way that I was explaining to a small kid who knows nothing about the subject. He gave some questions and asked me to solve in paper and explain the solution process. The interviewer asked me about my projects in my resume. Finally, he asked me why I wanted to join this job as I mentioned my skills in coding and 3D designing and analysing softwares like CATIA, Abaqus, Ansys etc. I told him that I learned those for my academic purposes but not solely interested in them and I was pretty interested in teaching. Tips: Get well prepared with the selected subject. Since they will ask you to choose a chapter, get well prepared in that chapter. Don't just use the formulae. Try to solve the sum in a more generalised way not using complex formulae. Just keep in mind that you are explaining to a kid. ^_^ ****All the Best**** ^_^

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

How do you explain the concept of slope to a kid who knows nothing about the subject?
      Answer question

      Question 2

Why do you want to take this job since your profile shows that you have more skills in coding?
