      Field Service Technician Interview

      17 May 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Santa Anita, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at BTCPower (Santa Anita, CA) in May 2021

      Interview

I had 3 interviews and multiple calls with the recruiter. The last interview was almost 8 hours long. I had to take time off from work for all the interviews, including 3 days to fly down for the final interview. I had to take some skills tests, which, according to the recruiter, I passed. I did not get the job for personality reasons, which is understandable. But, it was a lot of time spent trying to get the job. I feel they should have decided that earlier in the process that they didn't like my personality. Also, one of the interviewers told me they wanted to hire me if I could pass the skills test, which I did. But, I did not get the job. It's really too many hoops to jump through and too much of your time for just a technician job. The market is red-hot for skilled work and I was a good candidate that got passed up.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

During the final interview there were some basic component identification and troubleshooting questions. It was a pretty reasonable skills test. Unfortunately, they wasted 5 hours giving tours and talking about the company again, which they had already explained in detail in previous interviews.
