I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at BEEM (Montreal, QC) in Dec 2019
Interview
The process is composed of 3 interviews. The first interview is a quick phone interview with a HR consultant. The second is an interview with a business owner and a tech lead then they send you back home with a test and you need to come back for a review and have lunch with them. To get to know the team. What is this? kindergarten? Trying to be way to cool, make them seem immature. The interviews weren't structured, as some of you may already know it's usually a phone interview a test and a face to face interview in their case they start with a a face to face interview and a test and another interview. Overall it's a huge waste of time. Their mission is to democratize the ML tools, if you look at all young startups they all use the word "democratize". The word has lost its meaning. Overall I rate the interview as negative because the process is heavy with total disregard of the applicant's time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The technical questions are not very deep, I think they technical lead lacks experience. He asks stuff like what's your favorite database management system? He could have asked a million things on query optimization, materialized views, stored process, data streams , etc.
