I applied online. I interviewed at Auth0 (Los Angeles, CA) in Feb 2026
Interview
I've done quite a few interviews in my time and this has to be the most disrespecful one. I think the hiring manager decided as soon as he saw me that I was not what he was looking for. As a solution engineer your job is not to give answers without first discovering the need base. He asked me a basic question on for a client who would want to choose between saml and OIDC what would I suggest. I asked more needs based questions and started taking about trade offs. Ultimately he said the right answer is OIDC not same and that no one uses saml. I've been working in the Identity space for years now and this is simply not true. Whole interview lasted less than 15 minutes. Super dismissive, no interest in my background. I honestly thought I was being punked because the level of disinterest was quite shocking.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Auth0 (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2026
Interview
The interview process was very long and stretched over several months, with multiple stages (hiring manager interview, CodeSignal, technical interview, practical interview).
The same job description was repeatedly reposted, which created uncertainty around whether the role and headcount were stable.
The role did not feel fully defined.
The hiring manager mentioned plans to split the team into two, but this context did not seem to be consistently shared with other interviewers.
Interviewers appeared misaligned on expectations and scope, giving the impression the position was still evolving.
No actionable feedback was provided after rejection—only a generic response—despite the significant time investment required from candidates.
Good process with different stages: personal, background, and code. They were thoughtful, organized, professional interviewers who communicated clearly, created a supportive environment, and ensured the experience felt fair and engaging throughout.
