I applied for the position on Advocate Aurora Health Care website one evening and received an email the next morning indicating interest in arranging a 30 minute interview with a recruiter. I had that interview on October 11 where she asked me experience questions and a couple of scenario based questions. Afterwards she said she'd passing me on to the hiring manager and I had actually applied at two sites in Milwaukee: St. Luke's and Sinai. That same day I received a call and an email from the hiring manager at Sinai (then like a week later I received a call from the St. Luke's hiring manager) expressing interest in a interviewing me for the position. The interview happened that Friday Oct 14. On the interview was the hiring manager and the Lead Social Worker. They gave me a lot of information about the organization and the department I would be working in then asked questions about my experience like tell me about yourself, ask me to talk about the time when I dealt with the conflict, and another scenario based question around being a social work. The lead social worker asked me about how do I address poverty or how do I think you solve poverty in the community. I thought I did okay you know there was some laughter and seemed like we were on the same page a lot. The interview concluded and I hadn't heard anything in a few days then I got an email the following Wednesday, Oct 19 wanting to set up a third interview with the department that I would be working. The third interview happened on Tuesday October 25th with many members of the department on the interview where they ask me questions about my experience, why I wanted to work at Advocate Aurora, told me some things about the department and how the nurse case managers and social workers work together, and the hiring manager asked me a few different scenario based questions and I had to think on my feet what I would do in that situation as a social worker and the scenarios were all around discharge planning. I received a call the following morning with the job offer which I instantly accepted. It was really effortless for me because I enjoyed the process and how everyone was so accommodating and friendly. The process moved really quickly and overall took a little over 2 weeks. The hiring manager mentioned that this social worker position had been open for quite some time because they were looking for the right individual to fill the position and she was not interested in just having someone in the position just to fill it. My overall experience was very positive interviewing with Sinai I really like the hiring manager in the lead social worker and I thoroughly enjoyed the interview with the department that I would potentially be placed. P I have heard nothing but great things about working at Advocate Aurora Health Care and I look forward to my first day.
