I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Atlassian (London, England) in May 2024
Interview
I was approached on linkedin by an in-house talent scout. I asked a couple of questions and frankly, got no straight answers at all. The key one being what was the salary range for the role. The response was the classic "what are you looking for" - which is simply HR code for "please lowball yourself". I dropped out at that stage. If they won't answer the most fundamental question up front then I'm not wasting my time on a multiple stage interview process.

Interview
Did interview round with Karat. Such a weird experience with them. Interviewers say they have taken 1000 interviews. They have curated list of answers for every question they ask. Only if the keywords match with answers then you are selected else no. Do not waste time on this company especially if you are interviewing with companies like karat. Its like IAS exam, question-answer, question-answer. its not an interview, its an exam.

Asked all average design questions with hard bound pre defined answers.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Atlassian (Mountain View, CA) in Nov 2021
Interview
Same interview process described by others. Technical screen was a system design question. On site was 5 interviews: 2 coding, 1 system design, 1 values, and 1 hiring manager. I am guessing they only have a small handful of questions both for system design and coding that they reuse.
I am somewhat mystified as to why I wasn't given an offer as I felt I did well on the coding and system design interviews. I can only assume that now that they're fully remote, they've got a nation full of candidates to choose from, so they can afford to be really choosey.
