      Application

I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Asian Paints (Coimbatore) in Oct 2015

      Interview

The campus placement process took 1 day. Students from mechanical, electrical and instrumentation applied for the recruitment process. There were four rounds. Read on to know about my experience. ROUND 1: The first round was a written test. In total, there were 60 questions, all of which were technical MCQs. Questions were from a wide range of topics covering the basics of industrial instrumentation, measurement systems, control systems, process control etc. The selection criteria was also mentioned in the question paper. This was not an elimination round. Out of 20 from my department, 18 cleared this round. ROUND 2: Second round was a group discussion. Groups were selected based on department so it wasn't very awkward or uneasy as you'd be sitting with your fellow classmates. The GD topic was general one. Clarity in communication was tested here. In the end, they selected the ones that remained silent to summarize. Out of 18, 10 were selected for the next round. ROUND 3: Third round was the technical interview round, and oh boy was it an experience. Out of all the rounds, this one was the hardest. It was more like a rapid fire technical round. Shots were fired quickly. Its up to you to either take it or dodge it by answering correctly. Questions were from Industrial Instrumentation, sensors and transducers etc. Here are some tips, - Don't beat around the bush - Be frank - Be clear - If you don't know something, just say that you don't know. The technical interview was for like 30 minutes for each candidate. After several minutes of technical questions, HR questions were asked. They were expecting leadership qualities from the candidates. No matter what you answer, the interviewer will disagree. Its up to you to convince him. Make sure that you have something in your resume that supports your claim as a good leader. Out of 10, 3 were selected. ROUND 4: This round was a HR interview round. It was quite fun. Questions were asked from resume. They asked general questions about extra curricular activities mentioned in the resume. All in all, this round was quite easy. Out of 3, 2 were selected.
