I had a 30 minute phone screen with the hiring manager that was fairly standard. The hiring manager changed my interview time at the last minute, which I was fine with since schedule changes do happen. However, I did not appreciate that the recruiter never followed up with me on my candidate status after the interview. Just a quick email noting that the company had gone with another candidate would have been enough. After sending a follow up note, however, I heard nothing in return. The interview process is a two way street and I had taken the time to prepare for the call, speak with the recruiter and thank her afterwards. This experience was a classic case of a company not paying their job applicants the same respect they would expect.
