I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Arizona Commerce Authority (Phoenix, AZ) in Dec 2024
Interview
HR phone screen approx. 15 minutes - She was pleasant and asked the standard questions and explained what they do and are looking for to ensure you want the job if they are going to ask you to proceed.
Yes. yes. Scheduled teams meeting for following week with Senior IT Position.
Approx. 30 minutes in length. He was easy to talk to and laid back. Felt more like a conversation than a "Tell me about a time when"... but there were a couple simple what would you do questions. I felt okay about it not great, but I've certainly had far worse interviews. Said I would hear back by the end of the week, but they never followed up with a phone call or an email. It would have been convenient only 5 minutes down the street and I would have enjoyed the opportunity to learn from someone as experienced as he is.

Question 1
If you had executives meeting in the conference room scheduled to begin in a few minutes who requested you because they are having a technical issue with the audio/video and receive an email or call from the CEO who isn't able to get into her desktop what would you do or say?
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Arizona Commerce Authority (Phoenix, AZ) in Feb 2024
Interview
A series of interviews over 3 month period with 7 people and a screening questionnaire. Everyone was lovely and it seems like a great place to work. HR very friendly and communicative - maybe too friendly because I was under impression I was a top candidate. Timelines kept getting pushed back but periodic phone calls were made providing me a status, which I valued. Aside from the negative of not being offered the role after such a long and intense process, I would have appreciated a phone call rather than a canned email stating I didn’t get the position. The experience was respectful and positive versus so many companies that simply ghost these days, but extremely drawn out.
I had applied for a totally different role. The company reached out to me directly asking me to apply for another role as they had reviewed my resume and felt I would be a great fit. I applied, then followed up with them letting them know I had applied. A few days passed and then I get another direct email from this the company to tell me that: "candidate response to this position was very competitive and we have decided to move forward with candidates who more closely meet the requirements for this position"
It was a complete waste of my time applying for the role. They claimed they read my resume. Then I apply providing my resume again and then somehow I'm not what they are looking for. I understand folks apply and may not fit the exact requirements. What's frustrating was that I was told to apply directly by the company for them to tell me "thanks but no thanks" days later.
I don't want to waste a company's time I wish this one wouldn't have wasted mine.
