Extremely disappointing and unprofessional interview process spanning nearly 3 months (Oct 2024 - Jan 2025). After an internal referral, I went through three rounds of interviews, including two lengthy sessions (2h15m and 1h45m) with multiple managers. From the very first interview, I was explicitly clear about being remote with monthly office visits, which HR initially confirmed was acceptable.
Red flags throughout the process:
- Poor communication; had to consistently follow up for updates
- Long delays between interviews with vague responses
- HR attempted to discourage my candidacy multiple times despite positive interviews with management
- Contradictory messages about remote work throughout the process
After 4 hours of interviews with 6 different managers (all of which went very well), I was ultimately rejected with the reason being "remote work is not what they're looking for" - despite this being clearly communicated and accepted at the start of the process. When pressed for clarification, received conflicting feedback stating "remote work could be doable but not ideal."
This was a complete waste of time and shows a serious lack of coordination between HR and management, as well as poor candidate experience. Would not recommend this interview process to others.
