Initial interview took place with HR Director for the position of Director of Marketing. This was in January. Interview was excellent and I was told I would be brought back for the second round of interviews. Checked in with HR over the next 2 1/2 months and was told things were in process. Finally, in April, was told that position had been filled (actually given to someone within the organization with absolutely zero experience in marketing--wish I knew that before I took the job). Two weeks later, another job posting came up for Senior Manager of Marketing. I called the HR manager and asked if it would be appropriate for me to apply for this position. She said absolutely. Second interview was with the individual who had taken on the marketing role in addition to PR. Very stilted interview questions were asked. After interview, shown around the office. Was told if selected as a final candidate, would have to complete a series of tests and then interview one more time with the marketing individual and the CEO. No word from association for weeks--even emails to HR went unanswered. Finally in mid-June, received notice that I was a final candidate. Took tests online and on-site and met once more with marketing individual and then with CEO. If I had been in the position to wait for a job I truly wanted, I never would have taken the job after this point because of how cold and stilted both of these individuals were.
