A virtual interview with two developers, with some standard questions around previous experience and an introduction to what would be expected. Each had a hands-on technical portion, one systems design, and one live coding (using TopCoder). Interviewers were friendly and welcoming. Interestingly, no management involvement anywhere in the process.

Applied online. After the resume screen there was a quick call with a recruiter to go over experience in the area for the team, why I am looking, and what I want out of my next role. The next round was two separate 1 hour interviews. First was an a fairly traditional algorithms/data structure style interview covering 2 problems in a shared coding environment. The second was a system design round with a manager discussing how I would handle the backend of a service that corresponds to the UI mockup that they provided. It was technical but conversational. The final round was a 1-hour interview with the Director of Engineering. This was at a yet higher level still, dealing more with behavioural questions, project management, communication skills, and overall software development lifecycle philosophies and related critiques. Overall everyone was generally on time, friendly, and professional.
