I was interviewed by an engineering manager from Applied Materials, Austin at my university. He mainly asked technical questions and few behavioral questions. He was about to select me for the on-site interview, but the HR at the applied materials decided to go with one of the other candidate due to my F1 visa status.

Phone interview took almost 3 weeks to schedule after first contact by Department Manager. The phone interview was very informal, asking things about skills and experiences. The next week, they had me come to the facility for a face-to-face. Paid for my travel expenses. Interviewed with 8 different people from different departments and was given a tour of the facility. Went to lunch with two newer employees who let me ask questions of the record. Told me they would get back to me within a week. After a week, I contacted them and they told me they needed an additional week to make decisions.
