I applied online. I interviewed at Anoka County, Minnesota in Apr 2026
Interview
Dull, fairly straightforward interview. Overall, the interviewers lacked any kind of enthusiasm, didn't seem interested in being there or my answers to their questions, then tried to wrap it up over 10 minutes before the allotted time. Felt like I was bothering them by attending the interview.
Discovered halfway through the interview that they were looking specifically for a graphic designer in this role. Note that the job posting was a lot broader and simply listed those skills as nice to have. This was misleading and I would not have applied had the job posting been more accurate.
When I asked about the job's onboarding process, the supervisor barely answered the question and said he didn't really know the current process, which was a red flag for me. He then half heartedly asked another colleague on the call to share more, and she didn't really say anything either.
It was a warm interview. The individuals who interviewed me were detailed and interested in my answers. Gave me feedback and I left feeling confident. There was room to ask questions myself and I felt their answers were genuine.
I had a panel zoom call interview then an in-person interview. They both felt like conversations where we were all trying to figure out if it would be a good fit.
