I applied online. I interviewed at Angi in Mar 2014
Interview
My first contact was with the HR department for a phone interview. It was professionally handled, brief, and the questions were straightforward, such as what is your favorite kind of writing. After I passed that hurdle, I had to do a writing assessment, writing ad copy from scratch, improving poorly written copy, and finding errors in a passage of text with mistakes in it. After I passed that, I was brought on-site for an in-person interview with the hiring manager.

Question 1
I was asked what I thought of the writing assessment. The manager seemed to be trying to deduce whether I had enjoyed it.
I was called by a Talent Acquisition representative about a week after applying. She was very friendly and set up an interview for me. I arrived a few minutes late due to some trouble at home and was immediately asked by the interviewee why I was late (in a casual, joking manner). We then proceeded with the interview and after 30 minutes the head of the department was called in and took over from there. I was told that they would follow up with me and let me know either way what they decided. After a month I emailed to follow up and was told they had hired someone else. When I asked why I was not chosen the response was that, although I was a great interview, I didn't get the job because I showed up late. If that was going to be a deciding factor then I wish they would have just old me that upfront instead of continuing the interview.
