Received an email request for a phone screening and promptly scheduled one with the HR representative. It was 30 minutes past the time when I called her to leave a voice message. She called back a few minutes later ( I don't believe she would have remembered to call me if I hadn't left her a voice message).
She only really asked me two questions and when I asked her a little about the position, she was unprepared to answer. The phone call lasted only 7 minutes and she said she would talk with the department and get back to me by the next day. I waited more than a week before emailing her asking for an update. Another week later she sent a copy-pasted 'Thank you for your interest' email in reply.
I would be surprised if any qualified candidates made it past her; only inexperienced candidates would be willing to put up with the level of incompetency displayed. I don't believe that American National has a future if this is how they conduct business.
