      Anonymous employee
      Essex Junction, VT
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at American Income Life (Essex Junction, VT) in Oct 2019

      Interview

Very friendly phone call, went in for a 3 step process interview, a one on one then a group and tomorrow is my 3rd interview. The staff was amazing and very knowledgeable/compassionate about the company they are working for. They shared their stories and the products they sell. The best part is that then mentions no cold calling! How awesome! The office was immaculate, well furnished and felt very welcoming as a potential new employee.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at American Income Life (Tampa, FL) in Jan 2020

      Interview

Applied online for a Customer Service Manager position and was contacted the same day by an EA at the company to schedule my interview the following day. I should have known better that no legitimate company would contact you the same day and schedule an interview for the following day. That was the first red flag, but I ignored it. I walked into the office on the day of my interview to find several other people in the reception area also waiting to interview. As I sat and waited what seemed like 10 more people walked through the door to interview. Second red flag, but I kept positive. I was supposed to interview with one person, but was called by a different person. Ok so I pre-interview and then interview with the manager. Third red flag. After a VERY VERY brief discussion about my background I was shown to a large room and given a personality test to fill out while I waited for the presentation to start. Presentation? WTH? Fourth red flag. But again I stayed positive and filled out the paperwork waiting for the presentation. The room filled with about 12 people. This can't be right. In my entire professional career I have never experienced anything like this. The joker giving the presentation finally decided to start. It was obvious he thought his time was more valuable than anyone else's in the room. Then what was it...a freakin sales pitch. A pitch about how much money you can make in 3 years. At that moment I should have stood up and walked out. I kept waiting for the part where they discuss the management opportunities but it was all about sales. They are falsely advertising jobs. I expected to manage a customer service department NOT go out and sell insurance....btw you have to get a license and blah blah blah which comes out of your pocket. At the end of the presentation the joker asked why we would be a good fit, my answer... I WOULDN'T which is why I did not receive an offer. Another red flag was the get rich quick scheme and all the bonuses and prizes you can win like a trip or a brand new car. The whole thing is a scam and a scheme. I am embarrassed that I fell for it (ok well not entirely because I said no to continuing on, but still). Exactly the point for my review. DO NOT fall for it. This is your WARNING!! I spoke to several people after the presentation and all had same impression as me however they were falling for the get quick rich ideas the joker filled their heads with. I laughed and walked away. That was the end of my experience but there was one more step which was the final interview the following day. I do not think a company should be allowed to falsely advertise like this. I had to make arrangements for my children to be there for the interview (last minute mind you) and it was a complete waste of 3 hours. Time I will never get back. I am going to look at the bright side...it was an experience.

      Customer Service Manager Interview

      2 May 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Middletown, CT
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at American Income Life (Middletown, CT) in Apr 2019

      Interview

I got an Email without a Name to let me know that I was invited to the interview. When I got there, there were about 20 other applicants. We were all questioned individually first (only for 3 minutes or so) and then had to fill out a 4 page questionnaire. After a little while the regional manager came in and told us about the company. He had a power point presentation and was really nice. We had to fill out one last page, had all of our answers in and got a phone call for the 2nd interview about 3 hours later.
