I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at American Express in May 2023
Interview
Overal the hiring process lasted around 5-6 months with 5-6 video interviews, all asking general questions about my experience and objectives. After the final 6th call (that lasted 20 min and was interrupted in the middle), I received an automatic email with reject. The strangest hiring process I've ever had.
Interview spanned 2 rounds, in succession. Both had 1 panelist each.
The first interview started off with a BQ, then a couple of technical questions, 1
guesstimate, 1 riddle based on probability, 2 fraud prevention related cases, and ended with
me asking him a couple of questions
The second interview was harder. Started off talking about any project I wanna talk about, an
ML related case, a fraud related case, a mathematical puzzle, another guesstimate, 1
question on SQL wherein I had to tell the logic instead of the queries (Since I told them I was
not well versed with any programming languages), and a BQ
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at American Express
Interview
Casual interview with a mix of technical and background questions. I was asked about my background, a high-level SQL question about JOINs, a few questions about how I would approach a credit product and corresponding delinquency rate, and a question about what types of data or factors I would need for a specific credit problem.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If you notice that a credit product has a high delinquency rate, what types of data or background information would you need to access this situation?
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at American Express (New York, NY)
Interview
Around 10 behavioral questions and some basic questions about SQL joins and analysis on the credit card revenue and cost and how to access wether new card is going to be successful
