The interview process consisted of a 40 minute virtual interview, followed by a 30 minute in-person interview. During the virtual interview, I was asked a series of situational questions, as well as questions pertaining to familiarity with specific systems such as MS.
For the virtual interview, the company seemed very structured but laid back. The interviewer kept mentioning that I would hear back regardless whether they would move forward or not. This did not ring true after the in-person interview, as I reached out to HR and the first interviewer after 1.5 weeks and was promptly ghosted.
For the in-person interview, it was more informal with the manager explaining more about the role and departments. It also seemed they wanted someone who lived closer, though I only live about a half hour away. Additionally, based on their interpretation of the role, it was clear there was not a lot of structure or guidelines on how to do the job you’re assigned.
The PMC role is newly created for the company, and based on their description, it's more like an administrative assistant role where you pick up the pieces left by their engineers and relieve them of some of their more tedious tasks, some of which they do not excel in.
Overall, the virtual interviewer asked questions more catered to your skillset and expertise (think preset questions), whereas the in-person interviewer wanted to get a feel for whether you’d fit into what appeared to be a close-knit environment based on your appearances and commute.
