Got an interview invite by applying on Indeed.com then emailing them through their website.
Walked in, introduced myself to reception, received paper form to pen information from my resume onto while the interviewers were summoned by reception. Interview took place in the 'office' side of the facility at a conference table.
Two interviewers, different departments. One interviewer left to take a 20 minute phone call in the middle of the interview. The other had just stepped out of the lab still sporting her lab coat. She seemed like a very serious professional scientist. The interview lasted ~40 minutes.
Overall the interview felt okay at the time, but in retrospect the guy taking a call and missing core of the interview really reflects poorly on the company, particularly because I have not heard back in the month since the interview. It seems they are not too worried about taking their applicants seriously.
I came prepared. Researched the company and core techniques, brought printed copies of my resume and cover letter, suit and tie, the whole shebang. It is possible the position was already 'filled' by a previous interviewee because I do not think they took me seriously as a candidate.
