Filled in the application form online. Quite brief and traditional.
Received a call about a week later, to discuss my application further. General discussion about my motivations to work for this company, understanding of their business, understanding of what I would be doing if I was working there. Short discussion, just to maje sure you've not applied not having a clue about the company. By the end of the call, I was asked to come in for an interview with two lead analysts 3 days later. Interview was very informal, I was asked to talk about myself, describe my cv, things I like doing etc. This interview was actually quite disappointing. I had prepared quite a lot, thinking I would be asked a lot of questions but I wasn't. From previous interview experiences, I was also expecting a description of the company, of the role, which didn't happen. By the end of the interview I asked a few questions about the job and was actually quite disappointed in the job, all I got from my interviewers is that you basically only link people together meaning call people and send emails to arrange meetings. There is almost zero face to face interaction with industry experts, no travelling, and no involvement in "problem solving". This was a disappointment to me as it was not exactly what I understood from the website and I had a lot of trouble hiding my disappointment at this point!
The next day another interview was scheduled. For this stage you need to prepare a small presentation on a case study the office has worked on. The task was quite interesting and standard. I was asked questions about a couple things I missed during my presentation, and then more questions about myself.
I did not get to the final stage where you meet one or two of the MDs, I was told I could definitely do the job but didn't seem very excited for the role and the company. Which is partially true. I discovered during the interviews that the job wasn't what I was expecting, but the company definitely sounds exciting, people are all very nice and friendly, I'm sure I would have liked the atmosphere in this office.
