I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Adyen (Amsterdam) in Feb 2019
Interview
TLDR;
The overall process was a discussion with two data scientist, a codility, another discussion with two data scientist and a final discussion with a VP. That was my last one, after that a final round in Amsterdam but I didn’t reached that.
First I talked to two data scientist and discussed about my motivation to move to Adyen, my previous experience. They were very polite and the discussion was good and fluent.
The codility was very easy, but very long 3 problems in 3 hours.
The following interview was with another two data scientist. Again some talking about my background and some questions about machine learning. No coding. The questions were easy about basic concepts of picking features, how the algorithms work and tuning hyper-parameters. My suggestion here is to study a bit in an abstract level how to tackle a machine leaning problem (like in Kaggle). Be careful with this one because as it is just a conversation any miss-interpretation will be punished. Try to be as clear as possible.
The interview with the VP was very cool. Good questions about my experience solving problems and the proposed solutions. Also, some questions about motivations to move Amsterdam.

Interview
Online (Linkedin), messaging on the website, set appointments and interview through zoom. description of the next stages solicited. Next interviews scheduled on call and with the interviewers. Seemed like it'll have 5-6 more steps

Question 1
Alignment on the overall communication skills and moved to the next steps.
- Initial HR Brief Interview: casual talk - Hiring Managers Behavioral Interview: casual talk, brief background into DS experience - Technical Test: technical test they provided didn't work (the website they used crashed). I worked on it for a couple of hours in a day, then the next day it wouldn't open. When I reached out, they said they'd get it fixed and get back to me (didn't happen). The next week, I get an email from HR saying they will call me with updates, I respond but never get a call and no updates since then. I basically wasted my time talking and doing the technical interview only to get ghosted after being unable to complete their technical test due to the technical difficulties they are responsible for fixing (how am I supposed to do a test that I can't reach) Cringe

Interview
I only had one interview with a very friendly recruiter that didn't reach out to me nor sent me any message after our conversation, which she ensured had been a very good one. This is the second time I apply for a position at Adyen and I feel the HR process is very disorganized. The first time I applied, I received an email saying that they were very interested in my profile and that they would contact me, and a couple of hours later I received an automatic email that said that my profile didn't meet their requirements. That is extremely misleading and unprofessional.
