I applied through university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Advantage Metals Recycling (Kansas City, MO) in Nov 2018
Interview
David J Joseph attended my university's Career Fair and I applied for the position online through Handshake. I heard back quickly that I had been selected for a first round, in-person interview. The interview was mostly resumé based with general questions about past experiences and why I was interested in the job. It lasted about 30 minutes. Within a couple of weeks I heard back that I was selected to interview in Kansas City with the Advantage Metals Recycling team (part of the DJJ company). The AMR team was extremely friendly and welcoming when I arrived. The process consisted of six separate interviews as well as a personality/general knowledge test that took about an hour. Upon completion of the test and individual interviews, I was given a tour of the scrap yard where I had a chance to learn more about the recycling process and how that intersected with the position that I was applying for. In its entirety, the process took roughly five hours. However, it was very engaging and the team did a good job of making everything run smoothly.
Thanks for your feedback on the interview process. So glad to hear you were welcomed into the friendly environment that we are so proud of! To your point, the actual interview and tour can be lengthy but that is because we care so much about who is joining the company and want it to be a long term partnership!
