Horrendous interview to date - a cult-like experience! I had a 20-30 minute phone screen with a pleasant young woman in the department about my background and interest in the company, and was then given the green light a week later to attend a 4 person group interview from HR.
I showed up to headquarters the following week and was escorted to a large meeting room where the tyranny soon began. Three individuals had printed my resume beforehand, asking about areas I could clarify and other questions that popped up into their head (there was no note-taking). 15 minutes in, the main interviewer, aka the cold, calculated, evil "Reptile Queen"; unleashed her toxic venom of rude, abrupt, and condescending questioning about me (like a 180). "Where are your bosses?" and "Why advanced Excel?" were a couple in a snarky tone that I answered. To top that off, she had this awful facial piercing implanted on the left side of her jaw that was almost screaming at the room - completely low class.
At the end, her unprofessional behavior didn't stop. I shot two questions, the last one of which she answered: "Ugh! I can't even answer that!" All done with a creepy glare and a shock wave of dead silence while her 2 employees side-to-side sat there blankly, basking in her ruthless, dark, reptilian way. I thanked them for their time and shook hands with the other three.
Perhaps the saddest thing was the post analysis. I was cheerful and polite, only to be treated like an 8 year old troublemaker (Dennis the Menace). This job is still open and could really use an HR representative to hold accountability for the interview process. Moral of the story: Read up on the company reviews and opt out when things go wrong.
