Interview Experience at Accelate People – Two-Stage Process
I went through a two-stage interview process with Accelate People. The first stage was an informal virtual conversation with the Executive Director, which I found engaging and positive. A few days later, I was invited to a second stage interview, this time with both the Executive Director and the CEO. I was asked to prepare a presentation in advance.
While the interview itself was fine, I was surprised to find that the presentation was recorded without my prior consent. I wasn’t informed beforehand or asked for permission during the call. Although I didn’t raise this at the time, I believe they should have made this clear and sought consent before recording.
After the second interview, communication slowed down considerably. It took several weeks before the recruitment agency came back with the feedback, they kept in touch but felt they were stalling. I was eventually told that the company had met another candidate whose profile aligned more closely with a revised version of the role, and they had decided to move forward with that person instead.
The salary for the role was £70,000, which didn’t align with my expectations, and unfortunately, there wasn’t room to negotiate. While the team was complimentary about my profile and expressed an interest in keeping in touch for future roles, I left the process feeling that this wasn’t the right opportunity for me.
Overall, the experience had both positives and drawbacks. The initial interaction was warm and informative, but the later stages lacked transparency and timeliness, particularly in communication and consent around recording.
