I applied for the Software Engineer role in May 2025 and heard back from the hiring manager within two weeks to schedule an interview. I took two weeks to prepare for what was my first-ever interview. The first round was a 60-minute virtual interview on Microsoft Teams with two senior software engineers. It began with a detailed discussion of my professional background and projects from my resume. They asked a lot of questions about my past work before moving on to a few straightforward computer science fundamentals questions. The interview concluded with an easy-level coding challenge. The interviewers were friendly, supportive, and offered helpful hints whenever I got stuck. I received an update within three days that they were moving forward with other candidates.
