Extremely Unprofessional Interview Experience with AIG HR
I had a deeply disappointing and unprofessional experience with an AIG HR representative. First, I received a phone interview invitation early on a Saturday morning, which was already unusual. I responded within 30 minutes, confirming my availability for the following Thursday, but didn’t receive any follow-up until I had to proactively reach out again on Tuesday to confirm the interview.
Then on Thursday, the scheduled interview time arrived, and I was fully prepared — but no call came. Ten minutes after the scheduled time, I received an email from the HR rep saying my phone was not active and asking which number to call. I replied within 3 minutes with my number again and immediately tested my phone by calling a friend — it worked perfectly. I also tried calling the HR rep’s number, which rang through without issue.
I then followed up via email to let them know my phone was working fine and asked if we could still proceed. I never received a response.
This felt like a complete disregard for my time and effort. I had spent considerable time preparing for the interview, only for it to be mishandled with no accountability or follow-up. Based on my experience, it seems the HR rep had no intention of conducting the interview in the first place. Very frustrating and unprofessional.
